Protection. For several years, his practice has emphasized the protection of elderly and dependent residents of long-term care facilities in California. Mr. Thamer has successfully represented more than 50 elderly residents, their families, and former employees against corporate operators of nursing homes in cases involving elder and dependent adult abuse, wrongful death, and/or wrongful termination.

Throughout California. Cases span the state of California, from Siskiyou County, in far Northern California, to San Diego County, at the southern tip of the state.

National Attention. In March 1998, Mr. Thamer obtained a $94.7 million punitive damage verdict against Beverly Enterprises, Inc., in the case of Gregory v. Beverly Enterprises, Inc., et al. The largest verdict against a nursing home operator at that time, the Gregory case was featured in the national media and focused national attention on Beverly Enterprises. The case also resulted in a published legal opinion establishing the importance of federal and state regulations as standards of care in nursing homes.

Expertise. Mr. Thamer has been practicing law in California for more than 20 years, and has tried over 40 jury trials to verdict in State and Federal District Courts.
